Founder and president of the North American Tattoo Club. Passed away from Congestive Heart Failure. Dave was a volunteer firefighter, supporter of toys for tots, and tattooed burn victims free of charge. He also founded the Old Timer Biker Club and held the first tattoo Convention.

Doc passed away after a battle with leukemia. He was a 25 year NTA member.
Norm Farmer -

Norm was a tattooist for 42 years and a recipient of the Bob Shaw award. He passed away due to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease caused by smoking.
R. J. Rosini - May 24, 1940 - February 1, 2003
R. J. Rosini received his first tattoo from Philadelphia Eddie while in the Navy in the early 60's, and it all started from there. He died of undiagnosed diabetes. He was attended the first tattoo convention ever and died at one doing what he loved best. Mr. Rosini was a Bob Shaw Award winner with over 43 years in the business.

Mike passed away from a heart attack. Mike trained under Paul Rodgers and has worked with Ink Wizard Tattoos, Inc. in Georgia for the past 12 years.

He was 64 years old and passed away due to an aneurysm in his heart. Dave was part of the tattoo/tattooed community since age 15.

He received the "Bob Shaw" award from the NTA at the Reno convention in 2001..
Frederick F. 'Fast Freddie' Fahs - passed away on July 22, 2002
He died in his Tattoo Studio and was found by a customer. Fred was a master Tattoo Artist and a legend since 1972. He was involved with and did volunteer work for various charities and organizations, such as the Old Newsboys, the Boy Scouts and Feed the Children.

Wanda was the wife of the Late Great Bob Shaw and mother of Larry, Bobby and Curits.
Anne Pearson - passed away April, 2002
Anne was an 18 year member of the N. T. A. and an artist for 20 years. She died of cancer.

Tattoo Samy - August 5, 1929 - June 29, 2001
Samy passed away in Frankfort, Germany.
His name by birth was Horst Streckenbeck. He was born in Weibwasser Schlesien, Germany, now part of Poland. He was many things in his lifetime: a war hero, wounded 4 times and finely captured on the Russian front; a POW (where he actually started tattooing fellow prisoners and guards). As Lyle Tuttle from San Francisco puts it Samy was a "...world class Schnapps drinker and an all-around good guy".
Thomas 'Tatts Tommy' Breitweg - June 10, 1919 - June 22, 2001
He owned a few Tattoo Shops and worked until April 2001. He was the first Tattoo artist in Maine for many years and held license No. 01 until his retirement due to failing health. He was the oldest practicing tattoo artist in the United States. |
